I have been a member of WLHG for about 15 years and have done numerous powerpoint presentations and several exhibitions, about significant historical events, to the group of members.
Born 1941and lived at 6 Mill Street, Westhoughton until 1965. Both of my parents had relatives who were killed in the Pretoria pit disaster of 1910.
I retired from lecturing in 2006 in physics and environmental science at Manchester Metropolitan University where I had worked for 36 years.
